Exodus 20

The Ten Commandments

(also found in Deuteronomy 5: 22-33)

1.     Worship no god but me.

2.    Do not make any images.

3.    Do not use my name for any evil purposes.  (Or, Do not take the Lord’s name in vain.)

4.    Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy.

5.    Respect (honor) your father and mother.

6.    Do not commit murder.

7.    Do not commit adultery.

8.     Do not steal.

9.     Do not accuse anyone falsely.  (Or, Do not bear false witness.)

10.Do not desire (covet) another man’s wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else he owns.
