Central Square Congregational Church offers a variety of experiences for children and youth of all ages.  Our goal is to educate our youth in the Christian faith through Sunday School, Worship, Youth Group and Mission Trips.

Sunday School Curriculum

The Sunday School Curriculum is called Seasons of the Spirit.  It divides the church year into 3 sections.  The children explore:

• Pentecost 2
• Christmas and Epiphany
• Lent and Easter

Each lesson offers a spiritual message taken from the lectionary.  A variety of activities are offered to reinforce the lesson and meet the needs of the children.  The lessons are enriched with music, drama, crafts, games, etc.  During the summer months the children have an opportunity to expereince Summer Sunday School in the time called:

• Pentecost 1

Bibles

When children reach third grade, they are ready to receive a Bible, presented to them by their Bible partner.

Bible Ribbons

Every grade has an opportunity to earn Bible Ribbons.  They are assigned Bible passages that are appropriate to each grade and then receive a ribbon, upon mastering the passage, which they can place in their Bibles.  You may click on the link below to see the Bible Ribbons Handbook.

Opportunities

for Children & Youth

Kids of the Kingdom

for grades 4, 5 and 6

Meets the second Friday of each month from 6 - 7:30 PM

The evening includes Games, Crafts and Snack.

Youth Group

for grades 7 - 12

This group meets at a variety of times and places, depending on the activity

Chime Choir

Children and youth of all ages are invited to play the chimes during service.  Practices are either before or immediately after church on Sundays.

Praise Chorus

Voices of all ages are invited to sing in the Praise Chorus.  Praise Chorus practices and sings every third Sunday of the month.  Practice is at 9:15 AM.

Spring 2013 Events

January 6 - Heifer Project International.  This a month-long event culiminating on February 3.

February 3 - Living Gift Market.  The children bring their hard work and efforts to the church family with a celebratory marketplace featuring foods, crafts, games and more.

February 12 - Shrove (Fat) Tuesday Pancake Supper

June 14 - Children's Sunday
